ABCB calls for an exemption for Certification Body Staff
The Association of British Certification Bodies (ABCB) calls upon the government for staff at certification bodies (CBs) to be exempt from the from self-isolation quarantine rules to support the government in preventing food and other supply chains from failure.
Wayne Terry, chief executive of ABCB said “the government needs to consider the entire supply chain, not just distribution and food outlets. Goods can only move if certification is maintained. CBs have already had to adapt to carry out remote audits to keep supply chains open during the pandemic, so it’s just as important now to allow CBs to maintain certification and keep shelves everywhere stocked”.
